The Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Lisa Jackson, has accomplished more for environmental justice in her little over a year in this position than any administrator in the past several decades. The Executive policy of taking away years of secrecy of government operations for four decades has opened up communications between the People, Government and Industry. Last December (22, 2009), when Ms. Jackson appeared before the Senate, and asked finally for the TSCA rules to be reconsidered for the health and safety of humans worldwide. http://epw.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=Files.View&FileStore_id=07100a89-d2f0-4298-80af-db5597364928  [a link to the pdf. of Ms. Jackson's presentation].

In years past, over zealous EPA administrators ostracized industry, and created a hostile negotiating table. In contrast, Administrator Lisa Jackson did her homework. She included every interest in her appeals, and by her willingness to form partnerships, she got the Chemical Industry to open up and get on board. Hey, industrialists do provide jobs, income and the keyboard I am typing on. Industrialists have families and grandchildren who share this earth, it is showing in this mutual cooperation.

When people get involved and work together, it makes a difference exponentially.

A big thank you to Administrator Jackson, to President Obama for opening government operations to citizens who care, and thank you to the Chemical Industry.

Bless...
